Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Nigeria): “May those who love you be secure.

May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.”

For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”

For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.

Psalm 122: 6-9

We thank God for the month of September that is over and October we are commencing today.

Since January this year, God has been faithful in one way or the other and I’m sure we all have testimonies regarding our lives, family, work and other endeavours for which we are thankful.

We may not have accomplished everything we hoped for by this time of the year, but we are assured that all things work together for them that love the Lord and who are called according to His purpose.

Let us enter this month with renewed faith in God who is able to do exceeding and abundantly beyond what we can think or imagine. 

Let us hold on to the promise of God that His plan for us is not of evil, but of good to bring us to the expected end this month and this year. 

Let us be committed to God and the power of His might without which we cannot accomplish our desires. 

As we join in marking our independence anniversary, I urge you to join in praying for peace and stability in the country. Pray for the leadership of the country to have the required wisdom to combat the endless killings, banditry, kidnapping and other vices bedevilling the country. 

With the commencement of the political campaigns ahead of next year’s general elections, we have a crucial role to play in reporting and expressing our views on the electoral process to ensure free and fair elections.

We should join in praying for the election of the right candidates at every level to ensure good governance in the country which will make it possible for us to practice our profession without hindrance and be adequately rewarded. 

Happy new month again. I pray that God will grant you the wisdom and favour you need to excel in your work.
