While some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) prepare to return to their various homes in Taraba State, Chairman of Ussa Local Government Area of the north eastern state, Mr. Rimansikwe Karma, has pleaded with the Federal Government to urgently deploy additional security to ensure a safe return of the IDPs to their homes.<\/p>\n
Karma made the request in Ussa today while addressing journalists.<\/span><\/p>\n He stated that most IDPs from the communities in the Local Government Area were afraid to return to their homes over fear of another possible attack alleging that the attackers have adopted a \u201cguerrilla warfare strategy\u201d in launching their attacks against defenseless citizens.<\/p>\n Commending the security agencies, he also wants them to ensure strategies that could heighten the peace of the area as the people wish to resume their farming operations.<\/p>\n \u201cThe security agencies deployed here are trying their best, I must commend them,\u00a0but I want them to come out with strategies to enable IDPs especially from Tutuwa community to go back to their homes,\u201d he said, adding that, \u201cI know they cannot be everywhere, but they can do something to give the people confidence to go back to their homes.<\/p>\n \u201cThe rains are here and the people cannot go back to farm for fear of attacks,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n The chairman commended officers of the joint security task force made up of the Army,\u00a0Police,\u00a0Navy and DSS who are conducting joint security operations in the area for their professionalism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" While some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) prepare to return to their various homes in Taraba State, Chairman of Ussa Local Government Area of the north eastern state, Mr. Rimansikwe Karma, has pleaded with the Federal Government to urgently deploy additional security to ensure a safe return of the IDPs to their homes.
