Media Associates International (MAI), a global Christian publishing organisation has \u00a0announced the appointment of Heather Pubols as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective November 11.<\/p>\n
In a press statement by the out-going President of the organisation, John Maust, he stated that Pubols \u00a0was unanimously and\u00a0enthusiastically elected by the Board of Directors after an extensive selection process.<\/p>\n
Heather, a skilled\u00a0global communications consultant and editor, will succeed Maust on his retirement after 25 years\u00a0in the position.<\/p>\n
Heather has worked as a non-profit communications leader for more\u00a0than two decades, serving in diverse capacities on a global scale\u00a0including directing domestic and international teams, consulting,<\/p>\n
photojournalism, editing, strategic planning and training.<\/p>\n
She has\u00a0recently been involved in launching Christian Daily International\u00a0(Christiandaily.com), and since October 2021 she has served as the\u00a0editorial director of Evangelical Missions Quarterly (EMQonline.com),\u00a0an award-winning professional journal for North American\u00a0missionaries.<\/p>\n
Her work has taken her to more than 50 countries and\u00a0includes time living abroad in Kenya, South Africa, Germany and the UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor many years Heather has been committed to giving a voice to Christians around the world,\u201d said Dan\u00a0Elliott of the MAI Board\u2019s CEO Search Committee. \u201cShe is a unique and gifted leader. God brought MAI\u00a0to Heather\u2019s attention at just the right time, and He has given her a commitment and passion for this\u00a0work.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heather becomes only the third CEO in MAI\u2019s almost 40-year history, after founding President Robert<\/p>\n
Reekie and John Maust.<\/p>\n
As CEO of MAI, she looks forward to expanding the global conversation of\u00a0believers through the equipping of Christian publishing staff and writers in the Majority World.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of\u00a0my key callings is building bridges that amplify voices of the marginalized,\u201d she said. \u201cI am honored to\u00a0continue the excellent work that John and Bob have done to further MAI\u2019s important mission.\u201d<\/p>\n
MAI\u2019s leadership mantel will be passed at the LittWorld 2024 conference in Puebla, Mexico, November\u00a03-8, when Maust steps down and Heather is publicly introduced as the new CEO.<\/p>\n
Heather and her\u00a0husband, Jeff, reside in southeastern Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
