The July 8, 2026, Mid-Week virtual prayer meeting was essentially a Check-in session for members to share how well they are doing and requests for prayers.<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
How do we pray for one another if we do not know how we are all doing individually in our various endeavours?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
While it is important to generally pray about different issues, there is also great value in knowing the specific progress we are making, the things we need to thank God for, and the areas where members are trusting God for divine intervention and would appreciate the prayers of the brethren.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
With only a few members able to connect to the WhatsApp group call due to the heavy rain that started in Lagos minutes before the commencement of the prayer meeting, we decided to spend more time giving everyone the opportunity to share personal updates.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Before the check-ins, the President, Lekan Otufodunrin, shared a brief message on being servants of the Lord in everything we do, drawing lessons from the following Scriptures:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.” \u2014 1 Peter 4:11<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” \u2014 2 Corinthians 4:5<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” \u2014 2 Timothy 2:2<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Thereafter, our Chaplain, Pastor Alabi, invited those on the call to respond to the following questions:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
How are you doing?<\/div>\n
How is your work?<\/div>\n
How has the week been?<\/div>\n
How has July been so far?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The responses were a mixture of testimonies of God’s faithfulness and areas where members are trusting God for His intervention.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Some of the responses included:<\/div>\n
“I am okay. God has been faithful.”<\/div>\n
“I thank God for His grace, favour, provision, strength, and many other blessings.”<\/div>\n
“I thank God for the success of the programme I organised. God took control of the situation.”<\/div>\n
“I thank God for sparing my life as I prepare for my upcoming birthday.”<\/div>\n
“July has been less stressful so far.”<\/div>\n
“I want God to continue to help me in my studies.”<\/div>\n
“My work has been going on well.”<\/div>\n
“Though what I am trusting God for has not yet materialised, I am still grateful for the other things God has done.”<\/div>\n
“I thank God for making a way for me regarding the programme I will hold later this year.”<\/div>\n
“I am praying for teachers who can help me in the school I run.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Intermittently, prayers were offered based on the updates shared by members.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Those who joined after the initial check-in were also allowed to share their personal updates, followed by prayers from the brethren.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Pastor Alabi also offered general prayers for our organisation, members, and other issues that may be hindering our plans, aspirations, and desires.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Effective fellowship involves not only praying together but also knowing one another’s journeys, celebrating God’s faithfulness, and standing with one another in prayer during seasons of waiting and expectation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As members of one body and servants of the Lord, we should continue to bear one another’s burdens, rejoice with those who rejoice, and support each other through prayer.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfil the law of Christ.” \u2014 Galatians 6:2<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
May God continue to strengthen us, answer our prayers according to His will, and help us remain faithful in the work He has committed to our hands.<\/div>\n
