{"id":755,"date":"2022-04-18T21:59:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-18T21:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/journalistsforchrist.org\/?p=755"},"modified":"2023-03-29T11:06:07","modified_gmt":"2023-03-29T11:06:07","slug":"christian-journalists-fault-sterling-banks-easter-adverts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journalistsforchrist.org\/index.php\/2022\/04\/18\/christian-journalists-fault-sterling-banks-easter-adverts\/","title":{"rendered":"Christian journalists fault Sterling Bank&#8217;s Easter advert"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The faith-based media group, Journalists For Christ (JFC) International Outreach has condemned the advert published by Sterling Bank Nigeria PLC to commemorate the Easter celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The advert which likened the resurrection of Jesus Christ to the rising of Agege bread according to the group is unethical, insensitive, irresponsible and abusive to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JFC&#8217;s President, Mr Lekan Otufodunrin, said writers of copies going public should do so with the utmost respect for the sensibility of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe live in a secular country that also has respect for the various faiths being practised. Sterling Bank obviously did not consider the sensitivity of the content before allowing such to go public,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otufodunrin said, \u201cThe world is now a global village and everybody is online.
