Report of the weekly virtual prayer meeting held on July 15, 2025, highlighting the prayer points and testimonies.
The devil is indeed a liar, as we often say, but yesterday, the network was the liar that almost made it impossible for us to hold our virtual prayer meeting.
Only three of us were able to join about ten minutes after the scheduled start time. When others eventually connected, the network was unstable, with participants repeatedly dropping in and out.
Some members who tried to share their testimonies or prayer points could hardly be heard. Thankfully, we all stayed on and prayed over the requests we could hear before hurriedly saying the closing prayer, before the network would behave like the devil, who does not want God’s people to pray!
Released Kidnapped Children and Teachers
Among other prayer points, we thanked God for answering our prayers, along with those of many others, concerning the release of the kidnapped children and teachers in Oyo State. We returned all the glory to God for preserving the lives of the victims throughout their ordeal, especially the children. 🙏
We also prayed for the families of those who lost their lives, including the male teachers and soldiers. We asked God to prevent similar incidents in the future and to grant freedom to others still being held captive by kidnappers across the country.
Church and Christian Gatherings
We prayed that those who attend churches and other Christian gatherings would be genuinely impacted by the messages they hear. We asked that they would not be hearers of the Word only, but doers also, demonstrating through their lives that they are true followers of Christ and not merely churchgoers.
Peace in the Middle East and Around the World
We prayed for the peaceful resolution of the crises in the Middle East, which continue to affect the global economy, particularly oil prices. We asked the Lord to touch the hearts of leaders and grant them the wisdom to make decisions that promote peace and serve the common good.
We also prayed for God’s peace to reign in every part of the world experiencing conflict and unrest.
South Africa
We committed the situation in South Africa to God, praying for the victims of the anti-migrant demonstrations. We asked that wisdom and reason would prevail, that attacks on foreigners would cease, and that the Lord would provide for everyone whose lives and livelihoods had been disrupted by the violence and displacement.
Media
We committed journalists and media organisations in Nigeria to God, asking Him to continue granting us wisdom, courage, and grace in carrying out our responsibilities. We prayed that God would meet us at every point of need and make a way where there seems to be no way.
We also prayed for media owners and managers, asking God to give them wisdom to make sound decisions that will enable them to meet their obligations to staff and position their organisations for sustainable growth.
Multiple Streams of Income
We thanked God for the new awareness series by Justina Asishana on how journalists can maximise various opportunities to improve their income. We prayed that many would learn from the insights and experiences being shared.
We also prayed that we would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, willing to embrace new ideas, and ready to pursue opportunities that can improve our financial well-being.
Testimonies
We shared testimonies of God’s provision, successful programmes, open doors, and supernatural interventions. To God alone be all the glory.
Benediction
May the Lord continue to hear and answer our prayers according to His perfect will. May He strengthen us to remain steadfast in prayer, never losing heart.
