After the main prayer points, members at the weekly virtual prayer meeting are usually asked to share other personal or general points to pray about.
At the last meeting, our Chaplain, Pastor David Alabi, curiously asked that we should pray about what no one asked for.
“For those of us here and those not in attendance, there may be some issues we want prayers for, but we don’t want to say so for various reasons.
” Let’s pray for writing exams, moving accommodation, having challenges with their jobs or having other needs they don’t want to talk about.
” Let’s pray that the Lord who can see, hear and touch our hearts will help us with any issue, spiritual, emotional or social needs.
” Let’s pray that the Lord will minister to them, provide resources required, not put them to shame, show up for them…,” Pastor Alabi added as we all raised our voices in supplication to the Lord, praying for ourselves and others.
The Lord that knows and sees the intent of the heart will surely answer our prayer in Jesus’ name.
Apart from the above prayer point, we also prayed about other issues:
We prayed for the success of the July virtual fellowship holding on Saturday, July 25. That the Lord will perfect all arrangements.
We thanked God for Brother Adeola Ogunlade who was recently appointed as the Press Secretary to the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Lagos. That the Lord will grant him wisdom to succeed in the new assignment.
We prayed for the new military base in Omu-Aran to improve security in Kwara South, that God should supply wisdom and professionalism needed to achieve results.
We prayed ahead for peaceful elections in the country next year. That there will be no violence over results and the right candidates would be elected at all levels.
We prayed that the Lord will continue to uphold the leadership of JFC to fulfil the vision and mission.
We prayed for Brother Gbenga Osinaike on the passage of his father. That the Lord, who is the father of the fatherless, will continue to be with him and his siblings. That God will perfect all their plans for the burial and provide for them.
We prayed for Brother David Oputah’s birthday next Sunday and others who have marked their birthdays this month and will still do.
We prayed, we prayed, and we prayed!
May the Lord answer our prayers.
