In commemoration of today, May 1, journalists in Nigeria and worldwide will join other workers in marking Workers or Labour Day.
The celebration is generally to acknowledge the important role of workers, urge them to improve their productivity and advocate for better conditions of service and other rights for them.
We thank God for how He has been with us in our work and other endeavours since the beginning of the year till today when the labour of workers is in focus.
Working in the media in various capacities requires a lot of knowledge, skills and efforts. Journalists work round the clock to meet deadlines that leaves them little or no time for personal and family issues.
Sadly, not many Journalists are paid salaries and allowances commensurate with the efforts they put into their jobs.
For many, journalism is a thankless job.
They work for years and retire without much to show for their labour.
This May, our prayer is that your labour as a journalist will not be in vain by God’s grace. We pray that the time and efforts you invest in your work will be adequately rewarded and acknowledged.
Ecclesiastes 10:15 states that, “The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” This will not be your lot this May.
You will not only know what to do each day of this month by divine guidance, you will also know where to work and which organisation to work for.
Whatever you lay your hands on this May and whatever work you do with your heart as if unto the Lord, you will prosper.
In Jesus name, you will not rise up early in vain or sit up late to eat the bread of sorrows regarding your work this month. Psalm 127:2
The change you desire through your editorial reports shall come to pass.
Remain blessed.
