One of the contributors to a book about the experiences of former staff of The Punch Newspaper soon to be published reached out to me this morning to update her article.
” I forgot to add when I became born again in 1989. Can I still add that. I couldn’t have been able to go through this process without the LORD. I know deep within my soul that I have to add that,” she noted.
According to her, she has been feeling there was still something missing in her recollections of the about thirty five years in the company.
” I really went through this process of working in Punch through the strength of CHRIST in me. HE cannot be left out.”
My response to the request was “Yes, it’s necessary to add it.”
Not everyone will acknowledge that God’s grace was their ‘staying power’ for such a long stay in an organization that used to have the reputation of dispensing with the services of its staff frequently.
At a point in her work in the company, all the other staff in her department were laid off leaving only her and someone else due to technological advancement in her line of duty.
Her request reminded me of Zachariah 4:6 “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts”
I’m sure if someone had told her in the early years that she would stay as long as she did and get to the management position she attained before retiring, she might have wondered if she has what it takes.
As long as we are not relying on our human strength and wisdom, we can be sure that God will flatten every personal and professional mountain before us.
What is required is to always put our trust in the Lord and not lean on our own understanding. We must always remember to commit our endeavors to the Lord and trust him to take control of whatever may come our way.
This week, I pray that the spirit of the Lord will help you to accomplish whatever you are planning or desiring for.
I pray that God’s grace shall be sufficient for you and you will not be moved by how difficult any task ahead of you seems like.
I pray that the Lord will make a way for you where there seems to be no way.
I pray that he will send you help and provide whatever resources you need.
