One of the requests King Solomon sent to King Hiram in 2 Chronicles to achieve his goal of building a magnificent Temple for the Lord was the need for a master craftsman.

Solomon wanted a craftsman who could work with gold, silver, bronze and iron; someone who is an expert at dyeing and a skilled engraver who can work with other craftsmen.

King Hiram sent Solomon a craftsman named Huram-abi who is described as a brilliant, skillful and master designer.

Huram-abi completed to satisfaction everything King Solomon requested for.

Journalism can be categorised as both a profession and a craft. It requires both the intellectual rigours of a profession based on training and mastering various skills required for producing various editorial content.

If Journalism is a craft, can you be described as a master craftsman or woman who can be vouched for and be recommended for an assignment that requires the best journalist with a track record of outstanding performance?

Can you be said to be the master of your beat?
Are you brilliant?
Are you skillful?
Can you be trusted to deliver your assignments on deadline?
Are you diligent enough to master your craft?

King Solomon says in Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men.

Mastering your journalism craft should be your ultimate goal to be the go-to journalist God wants you to be. Avoid being the jack of all skills, master of none.
You need God’s grace and wisdom to master your craft and not trust only your knowledge and experience.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be a master of my journalism skills. Grant me the desire, diligence, wisdom and knowledge required to excel in my assignments and be acknowledged among the best in the media industry. Amen
