The WORD, June 1, 2025 (Publication of Journalists for Christ International Outreach)
The sixth month of 2025 is here. Today, June 1, we begin the countdown to the end of the first half of the year, during which we can still accomplish a lot in addition to what God has enabled us to do already.
We are grateful to God for His grace that has kept us going as the year progresses, and we are looking forward to making this year count in our various endeavours, especially our media work.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 states that there is a time for everything, a season for every activity under the heavens.
Among other things, there is time for, in verse seven, it says;
“A time to tear and a time to mend.
“A time to keep and a time to throw away.”
The month of June, being the mid-year, is a good time to reflect on how well we are doing regarding our plans for the year and map out plans to ensure we maximise the rest of the year.
It’s a time to tear ( stop what we are not supposed to be doing) and mend ( know the right things we should be doing and get committed to doing them.)
It’s a time to keep ( continue to do the right things we have been doing since January) and a time to throw away ( discard unproductive and unprofitable activities, programmes, projects, attitudes and more.)
June is a good time to make up for whatever time we have already lost this year. It’s a good time to maintain the momentum of what’s working out for us and avoid any distractions.
It’s a good time to ensure we are keeping to the timelines we prayerfully set for ourselves this year, knowing that time and seasons wait for no one.
Through God’s leading, we must learn to prioritise what is urgent and what is not. All things are lawful, but not everything is expedient.
1 Corinthians 10:23 says, “All things are lawful, but not all things are beneficial. All things are lawful, but not all things build up.”
God has things he wants us to accomplish this year spiritually and professionally, so as John 9:4 states, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
We should seek God’s guidance to teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 19:12.
We pray that whatever time you have lost this year, you will recover it this June in Jesus name.
We pray that June shall be a season of progress for you in whatever you are trusting God to accomplish this year.
We pray that this June, God will bless and keep you. He will make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
